French Version of ON Science 10

A science and technology resource designed to encourage students to explore and contribute constructively to the world around them.  It is specifically designed for Ontario Grade 10 science courses, both theoretical and applied.

A resource that:

• is at a language level accessible to students;
• incorporates the concepts of environmental education;
• facilitates differentiated teaching;
• promotes the study of real-life situations by stimulating learning in an authentic context;
• allows for the consolidation of scientific research and communication skills;
• offers a literacy strategy kit to prepare students for the Provincial Language Proficiency Test (PLPT);
• develops the student’s scientific vocabulary and concepts using visual cues;
• presents concise and well-spaced sections that respect attention span and reading level;
• presents several career profiles in order to expose the student to various levels of specialization in scientific careers.

The teaching guide is adapted to meet the needs of curriculum and immersion classes for theoretical and applied courses.

Its structure promotes differentiated instruction in:

• presenting 3 types of evaluation;
• offering guidance for students learning the language;
• explaining how to improve scientific literacy and how to use science and math tools, along with the answers.
