This anthology of Canadian essays is intended for introductory composition courses at the community college and university level. Varying in length and difficulty, the readings will provoke discussion in class and inspire ideas for writing assignments. A third of the selections are new to this edition with more women and multi-cultural authors being represented. In The Act of Writing, the emphasis is on the writing process through illustrating how to master the various rhetorical modes.
